Hi Dez,
It's great to see that you are feeling up to posting.

Speaking of cooking challenges, have you ever seen 'Throwdown with Bobby Flay' on Food Network? I love that show even though I don't cook much.

Bonnie,
The cooking thing sounds like fun, but not so much, right at this minute...LOL...

Pam,
Never saw the Bobby Flay show, sounds like it would be good.
The only cooking show we have watched is the Cake Boss..Buddy is a hoot and his cakes are awesome...

Lynne,
Tomorrow is the last day for this dosage of radiation. Then I start my boosters as they call it?..The doc is out of town till next week and she will tell me then how many more boosters I need.
I will be glad when I get some energy back, I am not worth a flip now. Grin

What are the boosters? small doses? Will it still be on a daily basis? Hang in there...you are almost at the finish line! Once you get to feeling better we'll play with food Grin

Pam...I also love Bobby Flay, actually, the cole slaw recipe I used yesterday was his and it was really delish! I'm trying to remember all the throw-downs I watched and figure out which was my favorite.  I loved the Mannhattan clam chowder one, but I think my fav was when he went against the young Indian or Pakistani girl that used to work with him and they made some kind of dumpling that I had never heard of before.

Booster?

From what I gather from the nurse today, it is the same dosage but the field is narrowed and more concentrated.  Undecided Get them everyday, I think.

We need to check out this Bobby Flay Grin

Bobby Flay is pretty cool! He's actually an Iron Chef on the show with the same name.  Yes..you guys have to check him out..he's pretty good and great entertainment! Buddy is a hoot on Cake Boss and does make amazing cakes...I love that show too!

That sounds like what DH had in the last week of his radiation. They didn't tell us it was called boosters, just that it would be more focused. You'll be done in no time, so go watch the cooking shows and get ready to cook!

Well  finished this round of radiation..Get a break till March 1, when I
see the radiologist. Now maybe I will quit coughing all night...This no sleep is getting to me. Didn't cough once till I started the radiation..

Yippee, I don't have to set the alarm for 2 weeks...

Go in for a CT on the 24th,
to see how many boosters I will get... Grin

Ditto, 2 glorious weeks of sleeping in. I don't know how you've done it, I would have given up in a short time. I'm hoping for good news when you get that CT scan done. HUGS

So glad you're there for her Fuzzy  Grin  Seriously- good spousal support can be more important than you may know.

I also, now have an enlarged heart and high blood pressure from the
chemo...Grrrrr.....Didn't have either before..So I am always short of breath.

Sorry about the heart issues Dez- bummer.  Did they put you on an Ace inhibiter for the bp?  They can make you cough - may be a coincidence???

Hi Ruth she did get some pills for her BP but as we don't know what an Ace inhibitor is we aren't able to answer your question, however, the pills she is taking for her BP are called Methyldopa, a substitute for Aldomet. So we are pretty sure they're a generic. Huh

Waddya think?

Well I googled it and that one doesn't appear to be an ace inhibitor or list coughing as a side effect.  I was hoping her cough was because of something so simple, but figured that most likely it wasn't. Her Dr. probably would have switched it to another type of BP drug upon learning of the cough.

She did mention the coughing to the doc doing the radiation, but she said there was nothing to worry about. The doc though, didn't see Dez coughing like her lungs were going to come out of her mouth.

Luckily during this rest break from radiation the cough has eased somewhat and she is a lot more comfortable now. We'll see if it starts again once the radiation restarts.
