My new laptop is a wide screen 17.3 and the fonts are microscopic for me to see. Before I start messing with it what would you suggest. I tried going to tools in the browser and that doesn't change the size even though I changed it to 16. They look as small as 6-8 points.

What is the resolution set to? Right click on the desktop and left click on Properties, then look at the settings tab just below the slider. I have terrible eyesight and see pretty well with 1024 X 768, but if this is too far away from the native resolution (this value should be in the documentation that came with the laptop) of the monitor, everything will look pixellated. You might just play with the settings there and see what it looks like.

Web pages are different, depends on how they are coded. In Firefox, I set my text size pretty large, but some websites just don't recognize your custom settings (for those I put on the reading glasses), but you can try in Tools, Options, Content, click on Advanced in the Fonts and Colors section ...make sure that there is no check next to Allow pages to use their own fonts instead of my selections.

Happy Turkey Day!  Cheesy

Getting ready to go out of town for the holiday, and I hope this helps. I probably won't have access to a computer while visiting family.

You may also try  View,  Zoom,  Zoom in.  Though you will have to do this for each page.

Well Pam I tried your setting and it was really distorted, circles were oblong, so I play with it and now have it set a 1280 X 600 and it made it allot larger but still slightly distorted but I can live with that.

It will be much easier than zooming for each page. THX Guys
