Hi everyone,
Greetings from Jamaica. has anyone ever use the ie1394 port to transfere large files between two laptops or desktops? I have some large files want to copy from one laptop to the other. the wireless connection and the 802.2 ethernet connection are two slow to copy these files. Can anyone give me any advice on how to do this?
Thanks
Paul

I think I would set up a simple network with just the 2 machines using a cross-over cable.  Then just copy the files from one to the other.  I can't think of a quicker way.

Sorry for take so long to come back. that is what I do now. but ethernet cross cable is only transfere file at max speed 100mbps. the firewire max speed is 800mbps. so I am try to find a faster solution. sometime I need to copy 30 to 50gb data. it take long!
  Best wishes

The Files total about 30 to 50 Gigabites. so that takes too long and also can't hold in one jump drive.
