I don't think thats a long time to live. 22,000 is a good life ..it means you are about 62. My friend and co-worker is on her way out. Bless her soul, she is going to meet her maker very soon. God speed to her! You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

We thought nothing 3 weeks ago. She thought she had the flu. Her DR sent her for tests and she drove herself 2 weeks ago to the catscan and ............
they admitted her to the hospital.
she couldn't keep food down and lost so much weight in 2 weeks, it was unbelieveable.
i went to see her in the hospital April 14 and she was awesome! She looked smaller, but her eyes twinkled when I pulled her favorite cookies out from behind my back and gave her a brand new Sodoko book.
My best friend, Derek, a defrocked priest here in Niagara (AND NOT FOR THE THINGS THAT YOU WOULD IMAGINE.... but for STANDING UP TALL to the CATHOLIC church and POINTING THE FINGER at the guilty ones) we met in the hallway and he told me she was tired and don't stay long.
I hugged her and saw her smiling face and left after 5 minutes....lots of hugs and kisses! I didn't stay long.
That was the day I saw her, and so did Derek. We both saw her at the best time possible! We spoke to other co-workers and told them she looked fantastic, and she did when we saw her.
The next day, she was not really with us, she slept most of the day and her body started to shut down. The day after that, she didn't know who she was or anyone that visited her. The Drs met with the family and they told the Drs to withhold nutrients and she is only getting morphine and water now, 1 week later.
My dear co-worker, who I so simply adore, is at the end of her days right now.
MY GOD! This has happened so fast, that none of us at work can even understand why. 3 weeks..and she is on her last breath. We are all in shock.

This song..10,000 days. Let me explain it. Maynard, the guy hunched over the organ, well, his young daughter got sick and he watched her die. I happened to go to this concert, in Toronto, and the laser beams for his daughter shooting up in the sky were unbelieveable!
My Mom got sick right after this and I could only listen to this song when she died. It was very comforting to listen to this music , knowing it was made for a situation like this.
This is comfort music to me. Sylvia will be going soon, and this will comfort me and also make me understand the way a person dies. The way their spirit goes on......and we are the ones suffering.....because we miss them so much!

well, Our Sylvia passed away Wed morning. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a week ago and given 2 months to live. I last saw her the previous Wed and it was the only good day she had, and I am blessed that I saw her that day.
It was very hard to go to work today, not just for me, but everyone. Her chair in the lunchroom. The beautiful note posted on her locker by management. Her name on the schedule...she was supposed to work 8 to 2 today.
At work, we all had our tearful moments, and found ourselves wandering to each other and hugging and sharing them, not really thinking about the customers. A few of our regular customers came in, and we told them we are all in shock, and what happened.
Sylvia is home now, and at peace. She was a wonderful wife, mom and Grandmother, and we will all miss her terribly.
This song has helped me to get through this terrible thing. I hope it helps someone else.

If the song helps you with the loss of your friend then I'm happy for you and at the same time sorry for your loss of a pal.
Bearing in mind what we're currently going through this has been a hard thread for me to read, in particular your last post about your friends illness and cause of death.
I hope our diagnosis regarding Dez's Cancer which we'll find out about this Wednesday has a different outcome. Sad times huh?

I'm so sorry to burden you all with this . I feel and HOPE Dez will be fine, she is so alive and healthy! I know this has been a hard time for both of you, and I shouldn't have wrote this. This has been something that effected me to the core.
My friend Sylvia, has nothing to do with anything that is written here, Dez has her own battles, and I pray she gets great results. Dez will win!I know she will!

No problemo Bonnie. You posted your feelings for your friend and of course you should have wrote what you did. Help with the pain of a loss can come from anywhere, consequently my thoughts and Dez's are with you at this time.
